Greetings! As the whirlwind of summer draws to a close and fall officially settles in, I’ve been reflecting on this past season. Like many states, West Virginia endured an intense drought this summer. For those of us who pour so much time and love into our gardens, it’s been disheartening. Yet, gardening always reminds me of pottery—both inspire a constant cycle of learning, growing, and nurturing something beautiful. Just as tending the garden requires patience and care, so does crafting each mug in my studio. And just as I find joy in seeing the results of a flourishing garden, I find the greatest joy in hearing from people who love my work.
One of the most rewarding aspects of being a full-time potter is receiving heartfelt messages from people who tell me that the mug I made is their favorite—the one that brings them joy with each use. These connections remind me that my work isn’t just functional art; it’s something that brings warmth and happiness into people’s daily lives.
As we transition into fall, I hope my pottery can be a part of the joy you share with others. Whether you’re treating yourself to something special or planning ahead for the holiday season, gifting handmade pottery is a way to offer not just an object, but a moment of connection. Each piece I create carries a little bit of my heart, and I love knowing that it can become a treasured part of someone’s day.
When you choose to shop with me, you're supporting a woman-owned small business and an artist with a dream that grows bigger every day. Your support keeps that dream alive and allows me to continue creating pieces that inspire joy and connection. Every message, every purchase—it all means so much to me.
Thank you for considering Morning Light Studio as you prepare for the upcoming holiday season. My next shop update will be in early October, and I’ll share the exact date as soon as I have it. In the meantime, I do have several beautiful mugs and wall-tiles currently listed in my shop. And of course, I will be sharing parts of the making process on my social media pages. I can’t wait to see my mugs become part of your lives, whether for yourself or as a special gift for someone you love. Here’s to a season filled with warmth and creativity!
